Shower Mate
If you’ve ever been frustrated by those automatic shower valves that cut the flow after a few seconds, just when you have a face full of foam, then you need one of these.
The cap fits over the shower button, and the flexible strap goes behind the pipework and clips back over the cap. With this the shower water stays on so you can shower properly without interruption.
Commercial shower valves are designed to switch off after a fixed or adjustable period, and typically this can be set between 10 and 30 seconds. Unfortunately, not only are many set to 10 seconds, but with wear that time reduces and it’s not uncommon for them to switch off after just 7 seconds.
USE RESPONSIBLY: remove once you have showered. The intent of these shower valves is to reduce wastage rather than annoy you, and the intent of this gadget is to remove that annoyance. Shower efficiently and remove from the valve promptly. We recommend that they are only used on showers where the set time is annoyingly brief.
Campsite owners may not be aware that their showers are switching off prematurely, and in many cases they can adjust the valve to lengthen the time.
The black version in the lower picture was a prototype design that sent out for testing and feedback. The device is printed in bright colours so that you don’t lose it - lime green strap with red cap, or bright orange strap with blue cap.
