Pop Top Heater Hose
This directs hot air from the heating system up into the pop-top area, making it usable in cold weather.
Designed for the AutoTrail vans with the pop-top option, it should fit any van with standard size (68mm) hot air ducting, so long as there is a vent within 2m of the hatch into the pop-top, and provided that the hatch has a steel plate somewhere, for the magnetic fitting to attach.
You get the hose assembly (the hose section is over 2 metres long), a replacement hot air vent, and a tool to help with removing the existing air vent, and a clip to clip the hose to the side of the seat back (see photo). The hose is silicone-based to handle the high temperature (and then some!) and is reinforced for strength. Other parts (excluding the tool) are in high temperature ABS or ASA.
The hose connects to a convenient hot air outlet, and generally that would be under the passenger seats behind the driver seat. To keep things neat there’s a right-angle elbow, free to rotate, so you can angle the hose upward without it arguing with you.
The hose then goes up into the hatch area for the pop-top, sticking firmly to the steel plate in the hatch with a strong magnet. The top of the hose has an angled piece that rotates freely to direct the hot air as you wish. The magnet also rotates on the hose so, again, it’s easy to position as you wish without the hose having its own ideas.
The FLIR (colourful) images show a poptop before and after running the heater hose for a few minutes.
